Pakistan has always won all battles against India but when it comes to gaining a tangible gain out of these victories in various battles- we fall back as a nation due to corruption of our top tier officials. Today I pen these words as we are about to lose another battle we just won in Kabul against India. The vibes coming out of our top tier offices are suggesstive of another deal that will make Pakistan leave with zero leverage compared to India that will yet again walk away with a huge prize out of a battle it lost in Kabul from us. From British Foreign Secretary to Danish officials to Angela Merkel to CIA Chief- everyone is rushing to woo Pakistan right now for support for evacuation of their assets from Afghanistan. However, as always we see our top officials give in to their demands without any meaningful return of favor that could potentially be a game changer in our claim towards an added diplomatic victory for Kashmir. In a nutshell, this was the time to negotiate & get Kashmir noticed by these QUAD-lobbied nations. This was the time to get MOUs signed for trade & foreign investment with them. Yet again, all we see is a rush of PIA trying to save the butt of these racist nations that have been discriminating against Pakistan for decades due to their Islamophobia inclinations making them feel at home with the extremely extremist anti-muslim rant of RSS that is justifying unchecked demolition of mosques & lynching of muslims in India.
India just desecrated the body of one of the biggesst leaders of Pakistan i.e Syed Ali Gailani & all we hear from our top tier ranks is same UN-approved rhetoric that Pakistan will continue to support right of self-determination of Kashmiris.
On 5th August 2019, India ended all treaties that led to the option of a free plebiscite. But, for some unexplainable reasons, our top tier officials are convinced that the option of a free plebiscite still exists despite successful attempts of India to change Kashmir's demography & despite persistent refusal of India to reinstate article 370. Its like our officials want Indian will to prevail when it comes to Kashmir watching loss of control on Indian occupied Kashmir. How body of Syed Ali Gailani was treated by India is a classic proof to support my argument that our top officials have voluntarily relinquished their leverage in Indian occupied Kashmir. Instead of responding with effective military strategic intervention & expanding the network of self-defence of Kashmiris, our top tier officials have been reiterating their continuous rhetoric of UN resolutions that were rejected by India on 5th August 2019. A resolution stands only if both parties accept it. India defiantly chose to reject the UN resolution working unchecked & unsanctioned to achieve its agenda but our officials unilaterally believe that just because they are holding onto this resolution it still exists.
I have been the biggest critic of Nawaz & Zardari for their corruption but when it came to Kashmir both knew how to get their way around the devious plots of the devils. Both never allowed the Mujahideen movement to be suppressed under pressure from FATF. Both knew this movement was the lifeline of Kashmiri freedom struggle. But one year into Imran Khan's government & dedicated effort of Insafians to stifle the Mujahideen movement-we watched India in horror take away the prize of uncontested dissolution of article 370. If the Mujahideen movement was not asphyxiated by the pacifist Imran Khan, India would have never dared to touch the article 370. On same grounnds, fact that Imran Khan's regime could not even provide protection to Syed Gailani's body after his death is a candid proof of his epic failure. Yes Nawaz is corrupt. Yes Zardari is corrupt. But when it came to ensuring that the Kashmiris had enough support of Mujahideens to keep them safe against Indian assaults, both wouldn't even think twice before agreeing to strategic military operations in the valley. We must never forget that it was during Nawaz's tenure when General Raheel Sharif carried out a very successful Zarb-e-Azab that created a new chapter in Pakistan's destiny & it was during his time when Mujahids like Burhan Wani were courageously empowered to keep the women & children of Kashmir safe against Indian aggression.
When Mumbai attack happened, India coerced PPP to give in & accept the blame at a national level. Despite immense diplomatic pressure, Zardari was able to escape the slander of India & project a national narrative in line with the ideological basis of Pakistan.
However, with Imran Khan, first thing he did under pressure of FATF is that he trashed the national narrative of Pakistan replacing it with that of Modi's. "Yes! Hafiz Saeed is a terrorist. Yes! ISI & Pakistan Army that worked with Hafiz Saeed is a terrorist. But since Imran is in charge, the world should rest assured that he (the self-proclaimed saint) will not allow Hafiz Saeed or ISI or Pakistan Army to commit any terrorism?"
When Dawnleak happened we ostracised Maryam Nawaz but now we have Dawnleaks happening as a NAYA national narrative but no one in the top tier is bothered a bit by it.
However, here are the consequences. Body of our biggest leader Syed Ali Gailani just got desecrated by Indians who are actually laughing at us for the impotence of our top officials hurrying to appease "their" QUAD allies without any conditions or MOUs or favors that could align with national interests of Pakistan. India is walking away with another mega prize out of this victory of ours we just claimed in Kabul. History is repeating itself. We are about to celebrate September 6th victory which was a victory indeed for us BUT a victory that was converted into a defeat when we lost our arguments to undue pressure of Indian allies in a treacherous United Nations.
This is actually a very good time to recollect a lesson we never learnt & hope that we finally choose to learn & act upon it accordingly. Our Armed forces are the best. Our intelligence agency is the best. Our weapon systems are the best. But there is a very strong reason why Kashmir remains under a brutal siege of Modi who just had the guts to desecrate the body of our biggest national hero unchecked & un-deterred. Because our top leader in PM office deliberately clipped the wings of the one man who could have stopped the Indian army from carrying out such a shameful crime against the body of our national hero.
Due to serious tunnel vision of our top policy makers, I will write down that lesson here explicitly.
"When you are out talking to anyone anywhere, STOP trying to please them anymore. Start trying to achieve the national goals & targets of Pakistan."
The day our top officials learn this lesson, Pakistan will gain victories that last & that are rewarding & that do eventually result into liberation of Indian occupied Kashmir.
