On whose side is #China?
As WW3 breaks out in #Ukraine, China has shown a surprising initiative by expressing to have cordial relations with India. Unfortunately, while Pakistan decided to not support US/NATO in Ukraine indirectly favoring the Kremlin-Putin's response has been less compassionate to Pakistan. Not only has Putin showered excessive trust on India in exchange for some peanuts from Modi but Putin has also played a major role in neutralising China against India in Kashmir. This is indeed a diplomatic victory for India that has managed to keep US in need of its Indo-Pacific base against China, lure Putin into trusting it in Ukraine & converted China into a potential future ally using Kremlin's influence. I predicted this would happen just as the Ukraine war commenced. While Pakistan supported its stance in Ukraine on the basis of ethics & principles- it is a sheer disappointment to watch Putin play double yet again in executing his foreign policy. This approach has unfortunately forced Pakistan's policy makers to re-consider its ties with Kremlin. Because as of the last time I checked, Pakistan is still battling against Indian proxy war in Balochistan & Waziristan. Ukraine has exposed true colors of not just Russia but China as well. Pakistan has been losing lives exponentially to keep China's access to Gawadar sustainable as Indo-Pacific operations of US/NATO plan to land-lock China shortly.
No one has yet confronted India harshly over its latest transgression where India deliberately crashed a test cruise missile into Pakistan to test Pakistan's response. Both Russia & China told Pakistan to do no more than demand for a joint probe? Imagine if India did such a misadventure against China or Russia-all hell would have broken loose by now against India. If I had to pen it explicitly- Russia & now unfortunately China are taking Pakistan for granted. This is after US abused Pakistan as a disposable tissue paper for decades making it fight its war in Afghanistan consequently bleeding it down to a $500 billion loss in economy & >100,000 lives lost. But have Pakistanis lost lives for US only? No. We have categorically lost lives of our soldiers for China since CPEC was announced. Carnage of martyrs is piling up getting martyred to keep China's access to Gwadar safe.
When it comes to Pakistan's foreign policy, I find our policy makers to be naive & gullible. Art of geo-politically-profitable foreign policy is to ensure that national interests are above everything else.
Russia has deeply-inflicted wounds in the USSR-Afghanistan war from Pakistan. It is still finding it difficult to trust Pakistan over India as proven by its actions to date. Art of foreign policy is to make yourself so indispensable for your coveted allies that they are left with no choice but to give you an audience not just in words but actions too. While Imran Khan received guard of honor in Moscow, Pakistan has yet to see any tangible gain out of this budding new friendship. If anything-if Pakistan loses its most important strategic ally China to Kremlin's geo-politics thus favoring India- while having lost support of US/NATO a long time ago due to their treacherous games-it may be game over for Pakistan.
I predicted that India will try to break up Pakistan by 28th April. When Pakistan faces such strong hostility from India 24/7, it will be foolish to lose China in such trying moments. When war breaks out in #Kashmir, Pakistan does not want a neutral China as being promoted by Kremlin under Indian influence- you want a China that stands with Pakistan till the last soldier stands in this war against our common enemy. Unity matters & is what will make Pakistan gain victory. Is China still united with Pakistan or being swayed to appease India out of influence of Kremlin?
